The Twisted Image
Alan Patterson (Leslie Nielsen), a successful account executive, unwittingly commits two blunders which set in motion forces that threaten to destroy his family and his career. Alan's first mistake is his innocent befriending of Lily Hanson (Natalie Trundy), a beautiful girl who lives in a world of fantasy and who has selected him as the object of her infatuation. His second mistake is calling Merle Jenkins (George Grizzard), an office boy, by the wrong name. Merle, a petty thief with psychopathic tendencies, is envious of Alan and his attractive wife, Judy (Diane Foster). Like Lily, Merle proceeds to undermine the Patterson family's happiness.

Before joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed The Colbert Report, which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one-third of the time. Good luck, Bill!
