Trial & Error - Season 2
Season 2
Lady, Killer
In the spirit of true crime documentaries, the second season of this outrageous fish-out-of-water comedy centers on bright-eyed New York lawyer Josh Segal, still relatively a newcomer in a tiny southern town, who is sturdily posed for his next big case there. His mission? To defend the eccentric first lady of East Peck, Lavinia Peck-Foster, known for her flamboyant outfits, large hats and hairless cat, and who suddenly finds herself accused of the bizarre murder of her beloved husband.
Episodes
The Suitcase
Attorney Josh Segal and team take the case of East Peck's most fabulous socialite, who's accused of murdering her husband. They're up against an ADA - Josh's pregnant ex-lover - and the pressure of defending a beloved Pecker.
The Timeline
The team must prove Lavinia's innocence after ADA Carol Anne Keane uses her pregnancy to manipulate the court into sending the case to trial. A true crime podcaster and Lavinia's brother's killer hold the key to a crucial piece of exculpatory evidence.
The Murder Clock
Josh's team continues to hunt for the potential murder weapon that would seal their timeline. The case takes a dramatic turn as their search leads them to two new suspects and some shocking news about Lavinia.
A Hole in the Case
As the trial begins, Josh and his team experience some hiccups in proving Lavinia's innocence to the judge. As soon as Josh thinks he's been able to find cause for dismissal of the case, Carol Anne argues to test the timeline herself, leading them to uncover a hidden passageway on Lavinia's property.
A Change in the Team
After tumbling down the Fosters' rum-hole, Dwayne takes the stand as an expert witness for the prosecution and declares Lavinia guilty. But when Edgar Foster's former lover is found dead, her suicide note proves Lavinia's innocence... at first glance.
New Case, Old Murder
While suffering the mental and intestinal distress of helping a murderer walk free, Josh struggles to satisfy all the ladies in his life. Carol Anne Keane agrees to go after Lavinia by re-opening the case of her brother's killer, Jesse Ray Beaumont.
A Family Affair
With the retrial of Jesse Ray Beaumont looming, the team digs into Lavinia's past to gain some fresh insight into the case.
Bad Instincts
With Lavinia eliminated as a suspect in Chet Peck's murder, Josh struggles with his defense for Jesse Ray Beaumont. Meanwhile, Dwayne enjoys his new life as a Peck.
A Big Break
Josh and his team continue to find themselves at literal dead ends in their casework until they unearth game-changing evidence with the help of Jesse Ray Beaumont. Meanwhile, in court, Carol Anne tries to finish the case before she has the baby.
Barcelona
As Jesse Ray Beaumont's trial begins, the team struggles to keep him under control while they discover more of Lavinia's secrets. Now that the baby is born and awaiting the DA election results, Carol Anne discovers who is the baby's father.
