Liv's life is very successful, but completely turns upside down when a plane with destination Barcelona crashes as her husband bought a ticket for it. But soon Liv and her family are confronted with bizarre developments which brings out even darker secrets from the past.

The life of successful Liv collapses when her husband Simon dies during an airplane crash. Doubts arise when she hears that Simon never checked in. Where is he and why doesn't he contact someone?

Together with Simon's brother Erik, Liv heads out to find Simon and the mysterious female and child she saw on videotape. What is Simon doing?
Het Tweede Kind
Liv pressures Erik to investigate Simon's disappearance, while it is not allowed. Meanwhile, the situation of Leyla and her child becomes more acute.

Liv is angry at Simon when his past is revealed. Haje makes use of that. Kevin has been captured in Iran by Leyla's ex-husband and is being heavily pressured.

Liv discovers that Simon is suspected to be a terrorist which brought down Flight HS13 and demands answers from the researchteam together with Haje. Simon has been taken by an unknown person. Majid loses his patience with Kevin.
De Hand
Liv recognizes Omid as being the boy who was together with Simon at Schiphol. In Iran, Majid receives the same information. Alex loses her control and sends Haje away. Haje runs to Liv.

Majid has finally caught Simon again. Kevin has been found. Liv and Haje decide what to do with their chopped off hand. Alex researches the disappearance, while Haje travels to the little wooden cabin.
Verraad
Alex has been shot. Haje took Leyla from the little wooden cabin and is in contact with Majid, who'se still in possession of Simon. Erik is talking with Omid, while Kevin is gaining strength in Iran.
The End
Liv heads to Iran herself to search for Simon together with Kevin. Haje guards Alex and will not be disturbed by anything else. The deal Erik has made causes trouble at home and work.
