Wicked Tuna - Season 10
Season 10
Episodes
Keep the Tradition Alive
It's opening day of the bluefin season, but the coronavirus pandemic promises to make this year different than any before. With less demand for the product, the captains of Gloucester, Massachusetts, face a series of challenges—time off the water, lower prices from the buyers, and day after day of uncertainty—and resolve to work together to make the most of an unprecedented season.
Back in the Game
While the bluefin market may be uncertain, the competition remains steady. With limited days on the water, the captains are determined to start the season off strong. Making waves early on is Captain Dave Marciano aboard the newly renovated Hard Merchandise, who seems to have found his mojo after a few disappointing seasons. But will his luck stick around, or are his glory days behind him?
Bank on It
In an uncertain season, everyone has something to prove. With a buyer break looming in two days and lower market prices, fishermen are anxious to get another fish on deck. While reigning champion Captain TJ Ott is out to show the rest of the fleet last year's win was no fluke and aims to be a two-time champ.
Best Laid Plans
With fewer days available to fish, each captain must find a strategy to maximize catches—and profits. While some rely on meticulously reviewing notes and coordinates from previous years, others simply trust their instincts and hope for the best. But when playing it smart doesn't necessarily mean playing it safe, does taking a bigger risk mean bringing home a bigger paycheck?
Tuna Master
Captain Spurge Krasowski is a local legend in the Gloucester waters and no stranger to facing challenges in the bluefin industry. Though this year's obstacle is different than any other, Spurge still challenges the fleet to work hard, fish smart and push their limits like never before. But can this old schoolmaster inspire the captains enough to score big in a shaky season?
Middlebank Monster
Competing against Gloucester's best team, resilient young newcomer Captain Jack Patrican has struggled to demonstrate that he has what it takes to keep up with the rest of the fleet. With this season's limited fishing schedule, every second counts, and Jack is more determined than ever to catch blue gold and prove that the Time Flies is a force to be reckoned with.
Payday Baby
All eyes are on Wicked Pissah as the trio leads the fleet. Paul reveals the reason for their drive this year, but they're not the only ones willing to do whatever it takes to be on top. By limiting fishing days, the plan to stabilize the market is finally paying off, and a higher demand for bluefin increases prices on quality catches, taking the competition up a notch.
Hold Fast
The seas off the coast of Gloucester are rich with bluefin, but summer storms wreak havoc on the fleet. With winds and tides running high, there's no escape from danger, and the teams know with a short window to catch, they can't afford to stay off the water. It will take helping hands and a lot of skill to make the weather work in their favor in order to get much-needed paychecks.
Can't Stop, Won't Stop
Even on a normal day, commercial bluefin tuna fishing comes with a whole host of challenges. But after a period of bad weather and with an upcoming buyer break, the seas are crowded with boats and competition is fierce. After a rough first half of the season catching smaller, low-quality fish, Fat Tuna will fight through it all and stop at nothing to get ahead in the competition.
The Next Generation
In one of the toughest seasons in Wicked Tuna history when finding the fish and making a paycheck is harder than ever, can the next generation of Gloucester fishermen rise up to the challenge, battling one obstacle after another? Can these young guns of the Bluefin fishery step up their game and prove their worth by bringing home blue gold?
Bad Fish, Good Blood
Stuck in the middle of the pack, Hot Tuna adjusts their strategy when Captain TJ Ott's dad takes out his own boat Bad Fish in order to increase their success as a family business. A friendly wager keeps the Hot Tuna and Bad Fish crews on their toes. As the rest of the fleet struggles to find bait, previous champion Captain Dave Carraro makes a tactical move in order to make their way to the top.
Strength in Numbers
As the clock keeps ticking on the toughest season yet, Gloucester's best captains must rely on their mates to help them land Bluefin in an uncertain market. But while some crews find strength in numbers, others find themselves shorthanded. And as the pressure mounts, these mates are forced to push themselves harder than ever as they fight to land blue gold and end up on top.
Chasin' the Bite
In their 10th season as competitors, the Gloucester captains face an unprecedented challenge: making a living in a bluefin market that's struggling to rebound. The resilient fleet decides to work together OBX-style to help each other catch. The five original boats are joined by a familiar mix of recent captains and a tuna legend, whose skills immediately puts the entire fleet on notice.
Real Heroes
Teaming up with Wounded Warrior Project, Dave Marciano recruits five other captains to put competition aside for a new mission: to bring a veteran on board for the ultimate fishing trip. The fleet gets to know about their guest angler's proud service in the armed forces, and how events like fishing help in readjusting to civilian life. Each veteran becomes a part of the crew and experiences the thrill of fighting a fish.
Rogue One
In a tough season where all the captains have agreed to work together, Dave Marciano defies the others by fishing in a secret location on his own. His ploy proves to be successful, as the Hard Merchandise catches tuna and stays on top of the leaderboard. But once the truth comes out, Marciano's sneaky move alienates him from the rest of the fleet and could cost him in the long run.
Cursed
Fishermen have long developed strategies for how to track the elusive bluefin tuna, but frequent buyer breaks this season have wreaked havoc on even the most successful captain's strategies. While frequent underdog Captain Dave Marciano holds a lead at the top of the fleet, five-time champion, Captain Dave Carraro and his normally productive crew suffer the longest cold streak in Dot Com history.
Quota Killers
With the quota running out and the end in sight, the captains gamble on where to fish as they race to catch monster high quality bluefin in hopes of earning big paychecks but they can't control what bites the hook. And the double-edged sword, every jumbo tuna they land takes a giant bite out of the quota and hastens the end of the season.
Make or Break
As the quota fills up and a buyer break approaches, Wicked Pissah and Hard Merchandise go head-to-head for the top spot. But when engine issues set back Captain Paul Hebert, the fleet discovers a chance to get ahead. As the clock ticks on the season, Pinwheel Captain Tyler McLaughlin bets on rough seas, and Hard Merchandise Captain Dave Marciano must improvise on Southern Jeffreys when a mechanical issue makes the crew scratch their heads.
Hot or Not
With the season coming to a close, the fleet fights to gain ground in an uncertain market. And while most captains play it safe and fish a known hot spot, first place boat Hard Merchandise takes a gamble and chooses to fish away from the crowd. But with time running out and the Wicked Pissah hot on their heels, both boats must battle it out in order to claim the top spot in one of the toughest seasons yet.
End of the Line
All eyes are on top contenders Hard Merchandise and Wicked Pissah, as the quota reaches its fill and the fleet searches for their final paychecks.
