Czech snowboarder Ester Ledecka was back to defend her parallel giant slalom title, and if things had gone to form, Britain should have been battling for their first-ever mixed doubles gold in curling.

Russian Kamila Valieva began the women's figure skating as favourite, despite being just 15 years of age.
