The wife of the innkeeper Gamper (Peter Pertusini), who has been missing for months, wanted nothing more than to get out of her remote mountain village. As it turns out, Teresa didn't get very far: her body was pulled out of a mountain lake. The investigators Sonja Schwarz (Chiara Schoras) and Matteo Zanchetti (Tobias Oertel) not only focus on their short-tempered husband and the waitress Lisa (Heinrich Horwitz), the young pastor (Fabian Oehl) and his predecessor (Nikolaus Paryla), but also the powerful mayor (Beat Marti) and his wife Maria (Jule Böwe). Sonja, Matteo and Jonas (Gabriel Raab) must break through a wall of silence to unearth the well-kept, dark secrets. The whereabouts of the"Gastronomers" Rossi - only Sonja and Matteo know that he is imprisoned in Rome.
