1800s House Overhaul
With more than 20 years in the flipping business, Cherie Barber has a unique 5-day flip strategy to turn neighborhood eyesores into homes that start bidding wars. Cherie goes house hunting to find the house that has the most potential for her five day flip. After choosing the right house, she and her team completely gut and remodel a kitchen and two bathrooms, plus add custom touches to the rest of the house. On the home's green exterior, Cherie uses her inside knowledge to create curb appeal that will attract the most buyers while still being cost effective. She has only five days to finish the flip and stage the home before the open house and now Cherie finds out whether buyers love the renovation as much as she does.

Mid-Century Makeover
Cherie Barber renovates a mid-century Rambler by knocking down a wall to create an open-plan kitchen that flows to the dining room. The dining room gets shiplap walls, and Cherie creates a microwave station in the kitchen by closing off a useless second door in a bedroom. Cherie modernizes the bathroom while preserving its funky retro floor tile, and saves a cast-iron tub by reglazing it. A wasted space is converted into a functional mudroom.

Starter Home Flip
Home renovator Cherie Barber restores a 1915 bungalow to its original charm. Cherie upgrades the outdated kitchen into a modern classic, and converts an adjoining empty space into a roomy banquette. An awkward bedroom becomes a proper master with the addition of a spectacular herringbone floor, a new window seat and clever bookshelves recessed into attic doors. The 100-year-old bathroom gets redone with period features and custom storage.

8-Day Gut Job
Cherie Barber tackles her biggest renovation ever, adding huge value to a flip by converting a storage closet into a second bathroom with floor-to-ceiling tile. A small kitchen maximizes space with butcher block counters and a farm sink, and a nook becomes a spacious pantry. Cherie turns an oversized second story landing into a living area, the downstairs bathroom gets updated with Wainscoting, and a surprise discovery in the kitchen makes Cherie re-think her design.

Versatility for Family Living
Cherie Barber transforms poorly defined spaces into customized rooms for everyone in a family. Cherie opens up a drab boxy kitchen by creating a 6-foot cutout between the kitchen and living room and knocking down hanging cabinets that block sightlines to the eating area. An awkwardly positioned laundry gets moved to make room for a new pantry with reclaimed lumber walls. A stark lower level becomes a family room, home office and play area with ample storage and a bold wallpaper feature wall.

Adding Room, Designer Details
Cherie Barber creates valuable rooms out of dead zones by transforming an unused closet into a home office with an 8-foot-long desk, and a utilizing a rear entry as a butler's pantry. A 70's claustrophobic kitchen becomes the home's showpiece by repositioning the kitchen doorway to improve flow to the living area, rearranging the work triangle and installing soapstone countertops. Cherie replaces the bathroom's flimsy shower with a smart cast iron tub/shower combo.

Luxury Finishes a Family Home
Cherie Barber adds unexpected luxury to a 4-level home, beginning with upgrading kitchen countertops to marble. Bold color and custom wood trim give new life to kitchen cabinets. Cherie turns a powder room into a full bath by utilizing adjoining closet space, and tiles the shower surround with elegant hexagonal marble. The outdated fireplace gets resurfaced with black slate tile surround that spills to the hearth, and the garage entry gets a revamped, highly functional mudroom.
