Interior designer and host, Alison Victoria, takes over for a Craigslist-loving, DIY couple that needs some expert help brightening their kitchen and opening up the space to both their dining and living rooms. The new design knocks out cabinets previously hanging over the bar area, widens the archway into the living room and substitutes an old cooktop with a new range and microwave. Alison replaces painted black cabinetry with a white shaker door look and trades chipping concrete countertops for gray quartz ones. The couple gets their first-ever backsplash, a natural marble mesh mount with green tones throughout. To finish off the look, Alison designs a DIY light fixture incorporating mason jars, wire, Edison light bulbs and a cut-and-sanded barrel to light up their dining space.

Dark-gray wainscoting, crown molding, hand-painted cement tiles and a custom DIY wine rack built out of a shipping pallet add the finishing touches to this classic yet modern kitchen.

Craftsman style cabinets in both sandalwood grain and barn red provide endless storage for the couple while light Silestone countertops bring in a clean, new look. Woven flooring is installed for both cushion and style and a DIY radiator cover helps hide an eyesore. The couple construct a DIY spice rack that fits in their cabinet door, complimenting their love for baking while keeping the kitchen organized. A DIY light fixture made of wine bottles that prices for $500 in stores, but is made for 50 bucks! Lastly, Alison gives the kitchen a special touch framing Chicago-themed post cards and adding glass shelving to house the homeowner's handed down salt and pepper collection.

Alison takes a dated and poorly laid out kitchen and transforms it into the perfect space to raise a large family. A drop down ceiling fitted with fluorescent lighting is removed, making way for a new drywall ceiling with can lighting to brighten the room. To allow for additional cabinetry, a window is closed off and the mudroom door is replaced with a full lite door to bring in more light. Old, sparse cabinetry is cleared out and replaced with buttercup yellow and mint green cabinets, doubling the storage in the kitchen. The kitchen table that never quite fit is swapped out to make space for a large peninsula where the family can do homework, snack and hang out. Cushy cork flooring, a multi-colored tile ceramic backsplash and brand new appliances give the kitchen functionality and style. To add a personal touch, Alison brings in a DIY garden wall and DIY bulletin board to give the children a space in the kitchen without letting them take over the place.

They saved Kitchen Crashers host and interior designer Alison Victoria's condo from disaster, now it's her turn to give back and transform a historic Chicago firehouse's disastrous kitchen into a dream kitchen. Alison pulls out all of the stops, giving this firehouse a rolling island, a giant prep space, brand new stainless steel and high gloss red custom cabinetry and a coffee bar. Old and dirty appliances are replaced with four refrigerators and two dishwashers. Alison adds a personal touch to the space, creating a giant dedication wall to remember fallen officers and commemorate the history of the firehouse, complete with a hand-painted mural of the house logo. To keep the firefighters organized, Alison installs an information wall covered in chalkboard paint and a custom chalkboard calendar to keep track of daily chores and shifts. To combat the long shifts, Alison installs a full coffee bar and gives the firefighters two new coffee makers. A DIY pot rack made from an old ladder, some fireman inspired ornaments and a lot of holiday cheer makes this transformation a true holiday celebration.
