Chloe Carmichael, former popstar and one-time darling of the tabloids, is found dead in her Chelsea mansion flat in the days leading up to Christmas. They first suspect a drug overdose, but forensics soon establishes that Chloe had been drowned in the bath. Their investigation leads from the World's End estate to a botanical garden, and ultimately to the lavish residence of the U.S. Ambassador (Alex Kingston), where diplomatic protections threaten to block their path. To solve the case, Max and Layla must navigate power, secrecy, and international pressure to expose the truth.
