The Chelsea Detective - Season 3

Season 3
The third season of The Chelsea Detective sees DI Max Arnold and DS Layla Walsh delving once more into the murky crimes of glamorous Chelsea. The team will investigate the tragic death of a 2000s popstar, the discovery of an ex-soldier's body in an allotment, the brutal murder of an antiques dealer, and the mysterious case of a climate scientist found dead in a stolen car. If that wasn't enough to contend with, things at home aren't much simpler for the investigating duo either. Max tries a new approach in his personal life as he embarks on couples therapy with his estranged wife, Astrid. Meanwhile, Layla is still getting used to living in London, while her partner, Jon, is in Exeter. They might be enjoying their independent lives right now but will discover that navigating a long-distance relationship can be trickier than they first thought.

Episodes

Everyone Loves Chloe
Chloe Carmichael, former popstar and one-time darling of the tabloids, is found dead in her Chelsea mansion flat in the days leading up to Christmas. They first suspect a drug overdose, but forensics soon establishes that Chloe had been drowned in the bath. Max and the team must contend with a string of potential suspects, including her hard-bitten manager, a conniving journalist and a Tory MP. Each of them has a secret connecting them to Chloe, but who was it that killed her?

Deadlock
When a body is uncovered on an allotment, Max and Layla rush to uncover the man's identity. With Ashley's facial reconstruction revealing the features of ex-soldier Jerome Singer, the team begins to trace his final days. Their investigation leads from the World's End estate to a botanical garden, and ultimately to the lavish residence of the U.S. Ambassador (Alex Kingston), where diplomatic protections threaten to block their path. To solve the case, Max and Layla must navigate power, secrecy, and international pressure to expose the truth.

Myths and Legends
When antiques dealer Niall Hammond is found dead in his shop, Max and Layla are drawn into a puzzling investigation that leads them from a renowned music society to mudlarks combing the Thames foreshore. The discovery of a rare gold coin worth £1 million points to greed as a possible motive—but as they dig deeper into Niall's personal life, it becomes clear that family tensions and buried secrets may have played a role. To solve the case, Max and Layla must untangle a web of deception and determine what's genuine—and what's not.

For The Greater Good
When climate scientist Archie Draper is discovered dead in the boot of a stolen car, Max and Layla are left with more questions than answers—especially since neither the car's owner nor the teens who took it appear to have any link to him. As they learn Archie was preparing to speak at a major climate change conference at the British Geographical Society, they begin to suspect he may have been silenced. But as unexpected ties and layers of deceit come to light, the investigation builds toward a startling conclusion.
