In a bid to prove that you really can get something for nothing, Gok Wan has reopened the Fill Your House for Free shop in Glasgow, and has stocked it from floor to ceiling with furniture which has been sourced for free. In each episode, Gok invites a family to embrace upcycling and prove that you really can transform a house without breaking the bank. Gok challenges his crack team of upcycling experts to produce three bespoke items for the families. The team comprise Max McMurdo, a pint-sized designer with a passion for transforming everyday items into amazing pieces of furniture, Jay Blades, who uses an amazing eye for colour to transform drab items into objects of desire, and Nessa Doran O'Reilly - a woman so obsessed with restoring furniture that she refuses to throw away even a scrap of old wood.

This episode features devoted husband and wife team Dianne and Terry, who have both beaten cancer in the last few years. Dianne wants a calming bedroom where she can write when her MS is bad, some help to inject some style in the living room, and something different in the dining room. Terry just wants to keep hold of his favourite armchair, a piece of furniture he's determined to be buried with.

Rory is a musician and composer, Amy is a designer, and they both love second hand but don't love paying for it. Gok encourages them to gain the confidence to do it themselves. The plan is to makeover the sitting room using a mood board for inspiration, and to create a cool freestanding storage system for the kitchen out of some old scaffolding boards. To complete the makeover, the bedroom is in need of a theme, so Nessa Doran O'Reilly creates an ingenious lamp that will display Amy's beloved shadow puppets.

As well as bringing up two kids aged 20 and eight, Eva works with troubled young people and has very little time to herself, regularly getting up at 4am in order to work out and have a bit of 'me time'. Eva needs some help bringing her lounge up to date as it's currently 50 shades of brown. Her bedroom is also uninspiring, and eight- year-old Ethan's room is packed with pine furniture and a bed that's too small and needs a lick of fresh paint.

This caring couple are stuck in a council house straight out of 1970. Student and events worker Kate suffers with ME and needs assistance to turn the living room into somewhere she can rest when she suffers an attack. There are no carpets and the walls are covered in peeling 70s wallpaper - not the kind of place for a young family. The dining room is also a disaster - the place looks like a bomb site, and Gok and his team need to use every trick in the book to drag this house into the 21st Century and give it some serious style.

Despite the arrival of a baby boy seven months ago, they've worked like dogs to get their Edwardian semi renovated and need a bit of help to get it finally finished. On the list is an overhaul of their bedroom, a revamp of the loft conversion, and an office for cycling nut Ryan to work in when he's at home.

Will Gok and his team be able to fulfil this nature loving couple's brief of 'bringing the outside in' without breaking the bank?

With Richard working two jobs, plus three kids to bring up, time to make their terraced house into a lovely home has taken a back burner. So Gok and his team set about a stunning transformation of two children's bedrooms, plus a spare for when family come to visit. Cool, contemporary and very practical, and best of all: free! But will Alice, Richard, and the kids love what the team have done?

Gok and his team attempt to help Luke and Sophie from Humberside, young parents with a second baby on the way, who are desperate for some help with their house. Four years ago they bought two run down cottages with the ambition of making a forever home, but there has been little time to do much more than make the place liveable. They desperately need Gok and the team's expertise to renovate their son Toby's bedroom, get the nursery ready for their new arrival and transform their loft space into somewhere baby clothes designer, Sophie, can sew in.

In this episode Gok comes to the aid of Lancaster couple Hannah and Alex, who met at university in Wales through a mutual love of musical theatre. They bought their house with the plan of decorating it from top to bottom, but their plans were thrown into disarray by the arrival of their daughter two years ago. With no time and little money, these two need the team's help to transform their dining room into a place to entertain and enjoy, their bedroom into an oasis of cultured calm and the spare room into a man-cave where sci-fi geek Alex can wallow in his collection of space-based toys and trinkets.

In this episode Gok helps Roxana and Torik from Chipperfield, who've become homeowners and parents in the last six months and are exhausted, overwhelmed and totally out of their depth. Gok and his team plan a total overhaul for the kitchen and the drab living room. Add a treatment room off the garage so masseuse, Roxanna, can see clients at home, and it's going to be a busy time for Gok, Jay, Max and Nessa. And throw in the fact they have to achieve this transformation for next to no money and it's a serious mountain to climb.

In this edition Gok comes to the aid of Mandi - a biker chick from Eccles, whose two bedroom house is in urgent need of help. Mandi bought the place three years ago but structural issues meant the money for decoration was spent on building work. The house is a mess - full of biker gear, half started upcycling projects and mismatched antiques. Mandi's best friend Sue is determined to drag her out of this quagmire, and wants Gok and the team to help her find storage solutions, clear out old clutter and get the place fit for the biker queen that is Mandi.

This time, Gok comes to the aid of a damsel in design distress: 29-year-old Stephanie from Blackpool, who has spent the last 18 months battling cancer. Now cancer-free, she has moved into a new flat and is after a new start. Can Gok and the team transform her bedroom into a stylish boudoir, her living-room into an entertaining space, and her spare room into an office where she can channel her creative juices working on musical extravaganzas for a charity that helps disadvantaged teens?

In this episode the team take a step back in time as they meet Laura and Kevin. She has a penchant for all things 1970s and he's far more contemporary - so it's a tricky brief for the team. Since Laura had her daughter, Rita, a few years ago, she has developed a passion for the most 'out there' decade of design. Laura and Kevin want to task the team with help injecting some funk and style in their bedroom, their daughter's room and the study, which they hope can be transformed into a craft room for Laura to indulge her passion of 70s inspired crafting.

Gok meets Scottish teachers Dominic and Karen, who have a baby on the way and are in desperate need of help to get the nursery in order. Dominic and Karen long for a seaside themed nursery for their new arrival as they love days out at the Scottish seaside, but also need some design inspiration and help in the kitchen and bathroom. Can Gok and the team upcycle them a cool new place to cook and a clean, uncluttered place to sleep?

In need of Gok's help in this episode are London family dad Zahid, mum Sameena, and their three kids. This family love being together so much that their house in west Acton has pretty much taken a back seat. So Gok plans a massive injection of fun by, firstly, totally transforming the sitting room/dining room. Nessa is on the case making the most ingenious coffee table that also separates to become three storage cubes. And Jay wants to really fill the place with bespoke colour, so enlists all the children to make a piece of wall art. Gok also wants to turn their dumping ground of a study back into a place for the kids to do their homework. Will Gok and his team be able to rise to the challenge set by this family?

This time, Gok is challenged by a couple from Lancashire who have downsized from a house to a flat and are now burdened by a serious lack of inspiration. Helen and Mark are after a helping hand to get some much needed style into their 'bog standard' flat. Their bedroom is overflowing with piles of clothes, the spare room is so cluttered Helen has stopped going in there, and the hallway that links the two is rammed to the rafters. They need to declutter and desperately need innovative storage solutions to get their place into shape. Step up Gok and the team - who will need to summon all their combined skills to solve Helen and Mark's problems.

In this episode the team meet Nikki and Chris who live in Kent with their daughter Kimberly and son Jayke. After splashing out more than ú20,000 on vital repairs to their house, they ran out of cash for the decoration. Cue Gok and the team who are going to help makeover their lounge, hallway and landing and the master bedroom. Nessa, Jay and Max have big plans for the house, including a luxury dressing screen, complete with upcycled mirror, and a cool toy storage cupboard for Jayke. With these key pieces, plus the total transformation of these rooms, will the family fall in love with their brand new home?

Gok meets a salsa dancing couple, Rachel and Andy, who live in a house that can only be described as a 'box of beige'. Rachel is desperate to inject some colour into the place while Andy is resistant to change. But they agree that eldest son, Maxwell's room is dull and dark and needs a drastic overhaul. The children's playroom isn't much better, and Rachel and Andy's bedroom is also in need of first aid. Can Gok, Max, Nessa and Jay persuade Andy to let some colour in to liven the room up a bit?

In need of Gok Wan's help in this episode are Louise and Darran who live near Blackpool with four-year-old Jake and a new baby on the way. So the team set about transforming their bedroom from boring into a boudoir; Jake's bedroom into something fit for a superhero loving toddler; and the bathroom into somewhere Louise can relax. The pressure is really on; can the team come up trumps?
